The Repossession of local landscape values has played a key role in developing the project; a significant contemporary revision of the original building has been done together with construction techniques and rural connotations of the context. The building (which was traditionally aimed at catching birds) had undergone numerous adaptations over time. It was decided to intervene by stripping it of superfluous additions in favor of a renewed residential identity. The tower stands out on the rest of the building: partly left in stone, partially treated with a chalk-plastered plaster. Emerald green (typical color of roccolo’s revisited in modern twist) holes/windows stand out as contemporary frames giving new views of the landscapes and recall the silent and watchful moment of attentive hunters’ gaze.
The entire complex has been enriched on the lower area by a reconstituted wooden sunshade system which guarantees privacy and thermal comfort. The interiors feature pine panels custom furniture and claddings, polished concrete floors, such as the kitchen floor, and a vibrant folded and varnished structural sheet staircase leading to the tower: all low-cost materials handled by local artisans. The wooden windows on the ground floor have been transformed into large bow-windows that serve as seating and beds. In the small turret, a single body of furniture becomes the protagonist becoming a balustrade, sitting and window.
The building fits in with humility but also character in the wonderful woodland surrounding it, reconnecting it to the rural past but anxious to be inhabited by the contemporary world.
Il recupero del valore paesaggistico ha giocato un ruolo fondamentale nello studio del progetto. L’obiettivo e’ stato realizzare un progetto contemporaneo che conviva con le tecniche di costruzione rurale del contesto. La torretta spicca sul resto della costruzione: in parte lasciata in pietra a vista, in parte trattata con un intonaco scalpellato a calce.Fori / finestre verde smeraldo (tipico colore del roccolo rivisitato in chiave moderna) si stagliano come cornici contemporanee dando nuovi scorci sui paesaggi, e richiamano il momento silenzioso e vigile dell’attento sguardo dei cacciatori.
Negli interni prevale il rivestimento in pannelli di pino, i pavimenti sono in cemento levigato, come il piano della cucina, e la scala che conduce alla torretta è ricavata da una lamiera strutturale piegata e verniciata: tutti materiali low cost, di bassa manutenzione e che allo stesso tempo garantiscono un’elevato design. I serramenti al piano terra sono stati ampliati con l’inserimento di due bow-window che garantiscono un’ottima illuminazione e allo stesso tempo contengono un sistema di sedute/letto (vedi foto). Un sistema frangisole verticali garantisce la privacy interna. Per inserire al meglio l’edificio nel paesaggio naturale che lo circonda, sono stati scelti i colori neutri caldi, anche se per alcuni elementi chiave spicca un accenno di verde smeraldo.
